If Pcad went to the World TT Championships

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If Pcad went to the World TT Championships

His results might look like these two guys:

41. Reginald Douglas, St. Kitts- Nevis, at 23:08.48
42. James Weekes, St. Kitts- Nevis, at 23:49.61

It's like the Jamaican Bobsled Team. They're not as fast as Spartacus and those other boys.

That puts Fabian at 29.4mph, and James Weekes at 20.8mph. I think I could do that.

Kudos to them for getting in there and going for it.

I would imagine they don't have a stars and stripes jersey. Maybe a big banana.

Here's James Weekes ...

I'm just in the process of sorting through all the photos I took, and haven't got to Reginald's photo yet.

Very cool. I have absolutely no connection to St. Kitts or the Carribean at all, but I'm tempted to try and buy a St. Kitts jersey or something to give them a few bucks for the next time around.

PCad making fun of black people (they're not African-American because, well, they're not American). What a bigot.

Based on the wheelset they don't seem to be hurting too much.

It'd be awesome if they went out there and did it on some piece of crap road bike with a bent seatpost and clip-on bars. I love seeing those at tris, especially when the person on the $100 garage sale bike does well.

Just because they live there doesn't mean they train there!

bikes and wheels are one of the smaller costs of fielding a world championship contending team. They probably got them for free. Hotel and travel expenses quickly add up, and are harder to get sponsorships for.

yeah, I can actually ride my bike for 40mph for 20 miles. I post on BF in between riding the Grand Tours.

The hour record is only a little above 30mph, but I've decided not to do it in order to avoid bringing attention to myself (I'm doped out of my mind, obviously).

Everyone did 20 miles on a given day for the most part with a few submitting prior rides. The rules allowed the choice of the flattest routes possible and some people went overboard on that! Florida and Texas entries...hmmmmmm

40 mph was done by a dog. 4 pedals.

It's impossible to find a flat route here. Mine was also done on a road (NM 528) with 6 stoplights early in the morning as I had to catch an 10 AM flight. I have no garmin, just looked at the start and stop time and I am pitifully last.

If I read the card right you did 20 miles in 30 minutes, for a 20 mile average of 40mph. So, unless I read the sheet wrong or you lied, your sarcasm is a bit misplaced.

On the "Virtual Time Trial" up above, that is from a bikeforums thread, and the first two entries were joke-type items that you had to read the thread to understand. The other rides were all people doing their own 20 mile course, so the results are not too significant, other than indicating that fast people went fast.

pretty muscular upper body, i wouldn't be surprised if he was a track runner that was asked to see what he could do on a bike
from the looks of it he still has aspirations on the track

I thought you needed the muscular upper body for the swimming part of a triathlon.
