I'm bored. Let's play the 2200, Sora, Tiagra, 105, Ultegra, Dura Ace game!

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm bored. Let's play the 2200, Sora, Tiagra, 105, Ultegra, Dura Ace game!

I'll start first.

2200: Front Derailleur
Sora: Rear derailleur
Tiagra: Hubs
105: Brakes
Ultegra: Shifters
Dura Ace: Crankset (need it light!)

Sorry Campy and SRAM play elsewhere...

wouldn't this be impossible since sora is 8 speed and everything else is 9 speed?

^ Marketing folks would want you to believe that. But in reality, rear derailleurs aren't very smart devices. All they do is pull and release cable tension. RDs have no concept of "speeds". The amount of "speed" be it 7, 8, 9, 10 is determined by the cassette and shifter.
Therefore Sora '8spd' RD can be used with other cassettes. BTW, the new RD3400 Sora is rated at '9spd'.

One minor correction is that the RD has to have the same cable actuation and range of motion, which all current Shimano road derailleurs do. The snag comes in trying to use an older 6 or 7 speed RD with a modern 8+ speed drivetrain, because the derailleurs didn't move as far when they had 126 spacing, or 120 before that.
