2010 Giant TCR SL3 in the house! or better yet it's now on the road....
So after much procrastination I decided to take the plunge and replace my 2004 Giant TCR Comp. I was looking at the 2010 TCR SL3 a few months back and just couldn't pull the tigger.... Well the other day I was doing the google thing and well..... you guessed it. I found the bike I've been wanting at a price I couldn't pass up. Had to to a little creative work to get it shipped to me. So after about a week it arrived on my porch. Thought I would share.
So far I'm blown away at this thing. Rock solid but more comfortable than the old TCR. Love the new Ultegra 6700 and don't even mind the Mavic Wheels. Still adjusting the fit a little but after riding it for it's first 100 miles I think I'm going to be one happy camper.
Stiffest frame I've ever had the pleasure of throwing a leg over when climbing or sprinting. Anyways.... a few pictures and I'll update my feelings about it more as the miles add up.

And yes I just noticed the LBS sticker on the down tube... Also found a familiar spot to take the picture

Amazingly smooth ride on chip and sealed road sections as well. Was really surprised just how smooth. Fast group ride in the morning... Should be fun!

well done - that's a pretty bike for sure.
(Off topic, I ride out on the island now and then... I may hit you up to see if you are interested in a ride :-)

Hey Looks exactly like mine!
I have yet to buy some nice cages, how do you like those?
I will probably upgrade the wheels at some point, but they're fine for me. I've hit a few nasty potholes and they are perfectly true still.

That's awesome. Giant is so hit and miss with their graphics, but when they do it right it looks amazing.

Few hundred miles more and this thing just keeps making me smile. I can't believe how amazing the front shifting is with the new Ultegra. It requires almost no effort throwing it to the big ring. The throw also seems much shorter to make it happen. Rear shifting is brilliant under load. Saturdays town line sprint had me hammering the shifters under power with zero complaint.
What I'm saying is.... Zero buyer remorse. It seems I made the right choice for me. Still trying to decide if it should have a set of Psimet 50mm clinchers on it or a set of Shimano Dura C24's.
At the end of the day the Dura Ace wheels would make the most sense for me. My local riding is almost always hills. Think 75 ft per mile or more in all directions. The DA wheels would drop about 100 grams. The 50mm carbon clinchers would add about 100 grams over the
Mavics. Decisions.... Decisions... But carbon wheels look bad ass.... Thinking unstickered 50mm carbon clinchers would look so good on this frame. Damn.

I agree with your impression of the Ultegra 6700 FD. A few times I have looked down to see why it hasn't shifted and it's already on the big ring. The shift was so fast, smooth and precise I didn't notice it.

So far these wheels rock! Combined with this frame it's amazing how it smooths out the chip and sealed roads. The wheels made a real noticeable difference smoothing things out. Braking is also amazing. Really can't tell much difference between these and the Kysriums in the dry or wet when braking. Real stiff out of the saddle as well. Zero regrets with these wheels.
