Better value? Bianchi Campione or Giant OCR3
During the summer I ride about 100 mi. a week, all paved roads, by myself mostly. Just for fitness. I ride on a mid 90's Schwinn mountain bike, and I find myself always admiring the road bikes, particularly as they pass me or as I struggle to stay with them. I'm looking to pick up a used road bike, to have just to ride. I've been watching craigslist for most of the late summer, and there are 2 pretty decent bikes in my size. Both are clean and functioning well.
One is a 2006 Giant OCR, with the stock Shimano Sora components. The other is a 1998 Bianchi Campione, with the stock Campy Mirage/Avanti components. Both have had little apparent use, mostly ridden a few times and put in the garage. (Two different sellers)
They both feel comfortable enough given the 2 minute test ride. Both are priced the same.
I'm debating which to offer first, and as they are both clean, I don't want to wait to long.
I may keep whichever I buy forever, but I feel like I might ride it a few years and possibly trade up. Which will have the better resale value, and any likely difference in terms of reliability of the component groups, low end Shimano vs. low end Campy?
Thanks
