Criss-cross cabling in 5700, 6700, 7900
Has anyone been running their derailleur cables criss-cross style? The supposed advantage is that the cable is able to make a more gradual turn from the handlebars to the downtube, thereby reducing friction between the cable and its housing. I installed my own cables for the first time when I bought 5700 shifters, and they worked like a dream for a while, but front shifter is starting to get sticky. I'm thinking it happened so fast because A.) stock cables and B.) sharp turns quickly wore down the cable housing liner.
I was just curious to know if anyone here has done it, or thought of doing it, since the new Shimano gruppos have all started going under the handlebar tape
p.s. - Sorry for posting a new thread.

My shifter cables have always been criss-crossed. Haven't had any issues.

Way awesome...but I cannot quantify that The shifting seems smoother with less resistance. Also using Yokozuna cables.

This thread just made me cry.
I googled "criss-cross" cabling, brought up sheldon brown's page.
5700
And I inspect my bike, it's not criss-cross cabled, front brake cables are apparently too short, and rear brake cables are apparently too long =/ works though.
