Age 56... 30 miles flat with slight breeze... Bike Raleigh Gran Sport 10 sp steel. |
It took 4 months to ride 30 miles? That's like 0.01 mph. Keep riding you'll get faster.
;) |
Congratulations on the 30, that's awesome! I started back into riding about the same time as you so I can certainly relate. Keep it up!

The more you ride, the easier the distances get. I do 40 at a stetch and it's no big deal. I've done a couple metric centuries, but still haven't done a 100 miler, although I'm pretty sure I could. The funny thing is when you tell people who don't ride how far you go on your bike and they get all goggly-eyed  When visiting home this summer I told my mom that I ride a distance equavalent from her new home to the house I grew up in and back, each way (17 miles), every time I commute, and she didn't really want to believe me.
