Assos Uno Size Help - right between large and XL on chart

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Assos Uno Size Help - right between large and XL on chart

I'm thinking about trying some Assos Uno Bib shorts. I don't think there is a local shop that sells them, so I'll be buying online, but I'm not sure what size to get.

I'm 6' 1/2" tall and my waist size is 33-34 (depending on brand). I weight a little under 180.

The size chart says large is 5'9"-6' and 31-33 waist, the XL's say 6'1"-6'2" and 34-36 waist, so I'm right between the 2 sizes.

I always wear size large jerseys and my current performance ultra bibs are also large and fit well.

I'm leaning toward ordering the large size, but would appreciate any feedback on how accurate the size charts are for these before I pull the trigger (I hate messing with returns).

I am 6'0". 174.8 lbs. I wear a size XL in Voler, and XXL in Giordano bibs. I am returning the size XLG Winter LL big I just received because they are too small everywhere. Too tight in legs, butt and waist. Legs are long enough, but straps too tight over shoulders.

I wear Assos size L, but I'm 5'10". For me, at that size, the straps pull down on my shoulders until I get onto the bike. I suspect you will find the length of the straps/braces too short for you.

I wear a lot of Assos stuff and I always buy Large. For nearly every other brand, I wear Medium or Medium/Large.

Simliar question, I've thought about getting a pair based on all the positive reviews.
Where do you see waist?

http://www.assos.com/en/90/size-chart---inches.aspx

I've only seen height. I'm 68inches, so it puts me squarely at wearing a medium.

In PI, I wear a small. Which isn't surprising since they size things more for the American market and as such tends to run larger.

I'm 72.5" tall and have a relatively long torso. I bought XL in the Uno, Mille and knickers. When I got them, I weighed 161, but I'm up to 175 now. They weren't as snug as I like when I was 161, but the straps fit better. (I know straps should fit in seated position, not standing) They fit a little better now that I've added weight, but they don't go nearly as fast. I might try a L (esp. the Mille) when I get back down to 160'ish.

I really like the XL tops for the torso and arm length, and I don't like skin tight tops. I've got very narrow shoulders and chest, and I find the XL in the LS Intermediate EVO jersey and Luftschutz windbreaker fits perfectly.

Get the XL. Their sizing is based more on height than girth. They expect you to be skinny.

I'm 5'11, weigh 168, 32-33 inch waist and just tried on some Assos bibs this past week. Size M suited me best and I seemed to be between the M and L on their size charts

most people, new to assos, feel as much, because they're oblivious to the fact that assos is cut to ride in, not to stand in.

Get the large.

I am 6 feet 1/2 inch with 31 inch waist, short torso, and medium fits perfecty (on the bike....the bib straps do feel a smidge tight standing up but that's Botto's point).
