Electronic Shifting in 1973

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Electronic Shifting in 1973

OK, well the patent was filed in 1973. Don't know if it ever got built, but just another interesting quirk of info about bikes.

Interesting to look at old ideas sometimes

Also, saw my old roomate & teammate's name on some other bike patents ... who'd of thunk !

That's really cool. How did you even stumble on that?

I was searching for some info on the old Cannondale-Klein patent dispute, then found other old patent stuff to be more interesting.
