How many road bikes do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If you count the vintage bike collection that I don't ride, around 40.
But I only ride 6 road bikes and 3 MTBs.

So, is this like, a yearly question? Even better if you open the search to the entire bikeforums. It's literally four pages of the exact same question.

Everyone has an interest, I guess.

FWIW, I have six. Three road, TT, track, and cyclocross

For me I guess it's two: One Fuji solo bike and one Trek tandem. If I was on the Tandem forum, I guess the count would be 1.5.

The guy that sold me the Fuji had a garage FULL of every type of bike I could imagine. He had vintage cruisers, carbon-framed lightweights, mountain bikes of many varieties and more. They were all immaculate. I wondered if he ever actually rode them.

Three. Two for looking at and two for riding:

Four, if my commuter counts as a "road bike":

n+1 (yes, the rules of bike ownership have been violated), where n is the number of bikes I *need* to have. When I sell that extra bike, I will go back to "n-1" bikes and can continue the process again.
