Spec out the dream bike you're saving for!

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

dont get me wrong, technically its a performance driven, superior, example of what racing bikes should be, plenty worthy of "dream bike status" just the brown and orange make me wanna puke, crap my pants, and gouge my eyes out, all at the same time.

I ride a Windsor Fens. What more could a cyclist want?

It's not even a flagship frame, but I think the Kuota Kebel is my favorite. Realistically, I'd probably outfit it with Shimano Ultegra and something like Reynolds Strike or Assault wheels. Who the hell knows. That assembly would far exceed my capabilities as a rider.

It's going to be a decade or two before I save up enough to buy it, so I don't really know what will be out there on the market by then.

Unobtanium frame that weighs 1.5 lb?
Campy Record 14 speed?
Hubless wheels?
A saddle that makes your ass levitate?

I'll be lacing my own wheels, probably DT 240 hubs and haven't settled on rims.
Eventually it'll probably have SRAM S40 or S60 wheels.
My old Specialized Toupe team saddle
It's slowly coming together. I just grabbed a SRAM S40 front wheel off ebay cheaper than I could've gotten from my supplier. Now I need to decide if I stick with an S40 rear wheel or go a hair deeper with an S60. Also heavier and probably won't be much of an earo benefit. Ok, I'll stick with the S40. Sorry, just pretty excited about this one.

Mine is in the works and will hopefully be completed next week.

2010 Orbea Orca (black and red)
Full SRAM Red
Orbea Carbon Setapost
Orbea Alloy Stem and Bars (white Fizik bar tape)
Fizik Arione Saddle (white with red down middle)
Wheels?

No clue how much it'll weigh, but I'm tall so it's a 60, which means it won't be super light.

Please let me know how you like the SRAM wheels as I am still going around with what to put on my build.

You could use some fancier wheels.

My dream bike changes all the time, as I'm easily swayed by shiny things. Probably a BMC Team Machine at the moment.

Cervelo R5 with Zipp 202's. This will be my build next fall when the frames are easier to get a deal on. The rest of the build is still in the works but it will be in the 12 LBS range and ridable.

Ritchey Cockpit
DT Swiss 240 hubs on 32H RR465

I've already owned a set of S60 and loved them. Very comfortable ride, great wheels. A bit on the heavy side but obviously, not bad enough for me to rule them out. Here they are on my old bike.

I don't know enough about bikes to dream about them. I like the one I have though. I would like to build my own one day just for the fun of building it though. Taking the time to research components isn't my cup of tea though

This will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine (and probably the 895 at the time)

Swap out the SRAM for Campy SR electric and Bora Ultras

Spend some time showing us what it's going to be like!

I'll go first:
I am going to buy the frameset and transfer my current components, buying the rest as I go(not cheap!).

Specialized Roubaix SL3 2011:

Neuvation 50mm Carbon Wheelset:

Sram RED Gruppo:

FSA K-Force Carbon Saddle:

FSA K-Force Carbon Stem:

FSA K-Wing Compact Carbon Handlebars:

Your turn.
I'm thinking about getting the SL3 roubaix frameset and transferring all my components. But I'm not entirely happy with Specialized's frame color schemes. I would much rather the 2011 tarmac colors. I suppose the white/red color theme in your pic might be good if accessorized correctly. And I think that particular color scheme is going to a specific SL3 roubaix with a certain carbon spec....10r I think? While the s-works version is supposed to have a better carbon spec? But I think the s-works version only comes in bare carbon color.
It's kind of confusing really.

Yeah, Bora Ultras would look sweet on that frame.
But I wouldn't be worthy of such a setup. I would have to work out constantly this winter including getting some plastic surgery done so my sad body wouldn't take away from the beauty of such a bike.

My custom rando from Terraferma should be done soon. It's 650b with Dyad rims and XTR hubs and Grand Bois Hetre tires (real size 40c).
The drivetrain is ultegra, the handlebars Nitto Rando, the saddlebag Carradice Barley. The rear der is XT with a 34T bailout.
I am hoping the paint 'works'. I ordered Liquid Crystal Copper Penny.

If nothing else, it will be different.
