What would you pay for: Easton EA90 SLX (clinchers)

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I paid $629 new but that was a great deal I'd say a good price is in the $700 range also average range for them is most likely a little more than that.

Hm, maybe I should sell mine to help finance my new PT...I'd be surprised if I could get $700 for them, though.

Brand new, I recently paid $550 for mine.

GREAT wheelset for the money. I would have felt like I got a great deal at $750.

One thing to remember is that if you buy new from a store you get warranty with it ebay or second hand you may not have that service.
So sometimes to my it is worth the little extra to be covered with warranty protection.

Thus no warranty, somewhat unknown condition. Wouldn't pay more than $400 at most. Otherwise just wait for another deal so you can get them at around $600. I'm not fully sure of the differences but Performance has what I believe are the '08 EA90 SLX's for $580 (then apply 10-15% off coupon + 10% off in pts ride card). Or there's plenty of deals on the net for around $650 new.

Sold mine used (less than 250 miles) about 6 months ago, for right around $500.

Easton treated me right on a warranty issue (bad batch of spokes)....they rebuilt the wheel, plus they replaced the freehub and even slapped on new decals....so I would buy new

I paid $522.50 + $40 shipping for a set of brand-new EA90 SLs on eBay.. then got $112.50 cashback from Microsoft. SLXs were around the same price at the time I bought.

$450-500 is a decent price. Much more than that and I'd be buying custom wheels from Psimet2001...

Not much.

I have a pair with about 1000 miles and a bad bearing (or something). The freehub was dragging until I put in a thin washer in to make room. That lets the freehub do its thing, but now the bearings get looser with each ride even though I have the new non-slip preload adjusters. And they aren't slipping, the play is coming from something else.

Easton just sent me a new freehub, but it isn't helping. I need to call them back, the wheel is too expensive to just toss.

I bought mine new on Ebay for $660.00 (new). I had trouble with the cassette body and had no trouble with Easton taking care of it. The also sent me the updated preload adjusters. I have found Easton great to deal with and may pick up another set of these same wheels once I wear these out, I have about 4k miles on these and ride them for most all of my rides (lots of rain rides on this set).
