2010 Felt F5 - any BF owners/riders?
I came across a leftover Felt F5 at a LBS and the price is right. I went in looking for a 2011 Felt F75 but there it was. Wasn't initially looking for a carbon frame but this thing is butter... feel the urge to buy it but trying not to be compulsive.
Looking for any BF riders that have one, had one, know somebody who rides one & would like to share their experience.
Thanks in advance.

I got a 2010 Felt F5 Team on Oct 2nd. I love it so far, I've been riding the crap out of it. Only recently something started creaking but it's because I've been naughty and have been riding it in the rain during the storms here for a week or so. Went down to the LBS where I purchased it and they switched out the wheels and whaddyaknow? The creaking went away, turns out it was the spokes on the rear wheel rubbing against each other/ flexing? I never knew this can happen, I thought it was the BB/HT because the noise just resonated through the whole frame.
Anyways, all I can say is every time I look at it I want to stop what I'm doing and ride.
The only downsides are it's weight and it's wheels, I recently weighed mine and it was a pig for a Carbon bike. Yeah, it's mostly 105 with cheap wheels but it's still heavy at 18.5 lbs in a 52cm (with cages, pedals and computer).
I was kind of in your shoes in that I was looking at an aluminum frame except it was a BMC on special at Competitive Cyclist . com and when I saw this deal at the LBS for a carbon frame, I made the jump and don't regret it at all.

Yeah, the 56 cm is 19.x lbs and that seemed heavy to me considering that the Felt F75 in aluminum is supposed to 19.89 +/- in a 56... but weight has never been a major concern of mine. Just the thought of having a frame that soaks up the road a little better seems like enough benefit to me. I'm sure with a decent wheel upgrade, the weight would be more along the lines of what is "expected" from a carbon bike. Thanks for sharing your experience, glad you are enjoying the bike & hearing "every time I look at it I want to stop what I'm doing and ride" says a lot, definitely what I'm going for with my next purchase.

bought the bike, brought it home tonight
only rode a couple of miles so far, riding to work tomorrow & maybe even a lunchtime ride... gotta take advantage of the "warm" weather while we still have it!

its secured in my car right now, dropping the car off for service 1st thing in the AM and then riding into work. but it looks like this:
but mine has white bar tape, which looks far better on the bike IMO.
