The Stolen Bike Nightmare
How often do you get this? It happens at least once a month for me...

Never...I have a nightmare that I can fly but can't get more than about 3" off the ground no matter how hard I try.

I usually sit astride it, with my feet on the pedals, hands on the handle bars, and butt on the saddle. I thought that was how your supposed to. How do you use your bike?

Sometimes I think about it during the day when I have a couple minutes. Then I remember that I bought stuff cheap enough to replace (upgrade? oh yeah) without major headaches. And insurance.

Really? Never happens with me.
I did have my bike stolen back when I went to college in Baltimore. It was an amazingly good bike, top of the line for its time (1985). That totally sucked.

You gonna eat that?
Never. My most expensive bike would cost less than $1k to replace as is and I could live with less. If it vanished it would be an inconvenience but not a disaster. It would just be an excuse to start looking at CL more seriously.

I've had it. I have no reason to fear getting my bike stolen, but I had the dream anyway, and it sucked.
Then I had the one about blowing off class all semester and only showing up for the final.
Next, I'm downtown in my underwear.
Then, I'm having a cigarette.
It never ends.

Just once, over 20 years ago. I had my first MTB locked up next to a guard shack in the Navy shipyards. Found the lock on the ground where the 2-week old Diamondback used to be. Uncle Sam reimbursed me. Thanks everyone.
...and of course, knock on wood.

Throw the stick!!!!
My deductible would be about the same as my pedals so I think I would go ahead and turn it in.

Never. My bikes sleep in the living room on the same side of the padlocked door that I do. And I usually park one in the bedroom to look at while falling asleep.
And I also get to park my bike in my office at work.

Never have a stolen bike nightmare. The only consistent recurring nightmare is that I'm in college, taking an exam in a course I have never been to and never read the material for. Actually, not to far from reality during my last semester of college.

This stolen bike nightmare is what kept me off the saddle for almost 20 years. My MTB was stolen along with my friend's a long time ago while it was locked on a rack unattended. It was a dumb mistake as to why it was left unattended, but after that incident, I lost all passion and gave away my road bike. Now I have nightmares about the wife telling me NO MORE BIKE SINCE YOU ALREADY HAVE A BIKE! It's an MTB, but they're all the same to her. I mean she already shook her head when she found out what road bike I wanted. That alone is already a freakin' nightmare... <_<

I have a dream that's remarkable similar to this. I'm played here by Pee Wee. My dream bike is way cooler than his.

Hey stolen bike means new bike (upgrade time). Not that I want to lose what I put all that time/money into, but I'm not attached to my possessions. My wife, on the other hand, cried both times we sold her car and when we sold her kitchen table/chairs.
