2010 Masi Speciale 105?
Hey all,
I've found a pretty good deal on a 2010 Masi Speciale 105 for 40% off retail. I am looking to get a new road bike, cause my current bike is a touring bike. I was looking towards getting a carbon fibre bike, and I was considering buying a bike off of eBay (looking towards a Giant or a Specialized with Ultegra), but this seems to be a really good deal. What do you guys think? Am I going to immediately regret not getting a CF bike, or should I just get it, and ride the hell out of it, and forget the rest?
Cheers,
Brad

You'll probably get few responses on here regarding that bike. I found that bike to ride well and be fairly light as well. Just know that the resale value won't be great on it b/c the perception with Masi is similar to bikesdirect. I have a tricked out Masi CX that is not all that light, but has a great ride and I can confidently beat the snot out of it. I admire Masi for having a fairly extensive steel line at decent prices.

I have a Masi Speciale Sprint, and I love it (for what it is).
But what you're looking like has no relation. It's 4130 tubing, which is what's on my surly. On my surly it's pretty soft and giving: Which is nice for a bike that rides nice, but not for a race bike.
Having never ridden the bike I don't know. From the specs it doesn't look like a bike I'd be excited to race on. If you like the ride and feel like you want to race it, for $1k I say go for it.
Also, it's only sort of 105. It's not a Shimano crank. And it's last years. I know this stuff brings prices down, but it annoys me.

Valuable input, thanks- I appreciate it. Specifically I appreciate the comment 4130 tubing being soft and giving, which is definitely not what I want for this bike.
Cheers,
Brad
