Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

calling someone a dillweed is not an insult?

it is rather lame though. it's tantamount to calling someone a bag of rosemary.

Ok. I'm the only one on BF that called anybody names here.

(Odd coming from someone complaining about name calling just yesterday on another thread.

No. I didn't call someone a name or insult them because I disagreed with them regarding the topic. Keep it in context!

Now, back to the topic instead of diverting. (If you can restrain yourself from continuing to go off topic).

using that many annoying emoticons in one post should be an offense punishable by a permaban.

A) Thank you. Olive branch.

B) I wasn't speaking about this thread specifically, but other threads. The behavior of some who seem to just want to argue instead engaging in substantive exchanges. I am guilty of getting caught up in the flame wars and am just as gullible to the trolls as the weakest of us here. But more and more I'm learning to just "ignore" them. But it takes me a few tries at first!

What is the point of dragging the baggage from other threads into this?

Wow...do you see "that" irony?

You talking about me talking about something in another thread while continuing to talk about it in this thread?

Easy solution...we stop right now and go back to the topic and I (IYO) stop being ironic and you go back to discussing the topic.

[BTW...in case you didn't get it from my response, I was defending roadies and pointing out the few dillweeds that want to argue instead of having productive exchanges when I brought that baggage in here. Taken in context, that statement was to show that the overwhelming majority of roadies I've personally come across were good decent folk.]

Lest anyone think I'm taking the position that the OP screwed up by following to closely because I identify with those "jerks" who didn't point out the pothole, I would like to repost the following from earlier.
