Holy crap, I take a break away from the road forum for a spell and you end up banned, your gorgeous wife banned, and now I see you are hated to botto proportions, if that is possible. Dood, you've been busy.
<sniff> I love watching you kids grow up.

It's just some of the jackwads here that are, well, less than cool.
Screaming for attention. If they had girlfriends (or boyfriends),
they probably wouldn't be here so much taking every opportunity
to insult others that they get. It's like a compulsion for them!
I can imagine them now:
"I read something I disagree with! I must respond and insult this person and
call them names! Must! Respond! I must complain about their response!"
Which leads me to this...
"The power of reason compels you!
The power of reason compels you!
The power of reason compels you!"
(But it usually doesn't work.)

For my part, most roadies I've met were cool.

Ok. I'm the only one on BF that called anybody names here.
(Odd coming from someone complaining about name calling just yesterday on another thread.
No. I didn't call someone a name or insult them because I disagreed with them regarding the topic. Keep it in context!
Now, back to the topic instead of diverting. (If you can restrain yourself from continuing to go off topic).

A) Thank you. Olive branch.
B) I wasn't speaking about this thread specifically, but other threads. The behavior of some who seem to just want to argue instead engaging in substantive exchanges. I am guilty of getting caught up in the flame wars and am just as gullible to the trolls as the weakest of us here. But more and more I'm learning to just "ignore" them. But it takes me a few tries at first!

IMO, the right thing for them to do was to let you know what was ahead of you, but then again,
if I were riding with unfamiliar riders, I wouldn't count on them to give me a heads up.
I personally would've stayed far enough back to catch the hole myself. I don't trust anybody I don't know.
But you're right about there being etiquette that could've of been practiced.
I would've if I knew someone was riding behind me and I didn't know them.

You talking about me talking about something in another thread while continuing to talk about it in this thread?
Easy solution...we stop right now and go back to the topic and I (IYO) stop being ironic and you go back to discussing the topic.
[BTW...in case you didn't get it from my response, I was defending roadies and pointing out the few dillweeds that want to argue instead of having productive exchanges when I brought that baggage in here. Taken in context, that statement was to show that the overwhelming majority of roadies I've personally come across were good decent folk.]

Lest anyone think I'm taking the position that the OP screwed up by following to closely because I identify with those "jerks" who didn't point out the pothole, I would like to repost the following from earlier.
That being said, my threshold may be different than yours, so I may miss something
