Shady ebay dealings
https://cgi.ebay.com/Zinn-Titanium-55...item45f7160188
This seller has about 10+ postings of the same bike. The text(or rather the .jpg of text) says that as soon as 5 are sold via email (not through ebay), then he will take down all the other multiple postings.
He list the Zinn ti road bikes, Zinn ti track bikes, and a Pinarello carbon bike in this strange fashion. I guess just to get the word out there.
I think he used the .jpg instead of text to circumvent any ebay regulating bots.
I was just curious about this so I emailed him asking if he can send me a serial number of one of the Ti road bikes to check with Lennard Zinn and he just replied asking me to do the transaction outside of ebay. Sounds like these are not genuine Zinn frames, maybe knockoffs.
This sounds really shady.

I saw on another forum some chatter about another high-end frame where the seller appears to have copied a genuine listing and then created a bunch of duplicates at absurdly low prices.
I reported one of the listings to eBay and got back an email saying that if I was really that concerned I should contact law enforcement (I'm paraphrasing here).
Be careful out there, folks.

The feedback looks suspect also. Several feedback lines are identical and from the same person. Like he created a fake user account and "sold" stuff to himself over and over.

It is against ebay policy to request transactions outside of ebay, forward the request to th ebay, and they will deal with him. It also is a screaming red flag for fraud.

These same posting keep popping up almost daily. They use others Ebay account and insert their listing, so you will see a 100 percent ebay rating power seller. Listings normally last a little over 2 days and the sellers email address changes everytime. Heres what I have noticed:
- JPEG photo listing
- buy it now if you contact a certain email address w/ ebay listing number.
- no reserve starting at $0.99 for 2 day listing
- email address and page layout does not match other sellers items.
- Guaranteed 24 hour delivery after payment
EBay takes these down normally within a few hours after posting. I still see people bidding on these. I think these crooks prey on people contacting them through email.

I reported a couple people who did that ^^^. Biggest giveaways were the description of the amazing deal was a jpg image so it couldn't be filtered, external email, "do not bid" warning, etc.

As sure as the groundhog seeing it's shadow, the scambay bike scammers make another run at the unsuspecting.
How about this exchange with an ebay seller on a pair of high end shoes.
Buyer(me): These shoes come in 3 widths and custom. What width are the shoes?
Seller: They are not wide.
Buyer: OK are they the narrow or regular width?
Seller: They are the new model.
Buyer: What kind of answer is that? Here is a link to the mfg. website. If you want to sell the shoes I need the width.
Seller: They are universal size and will fit anyone from 8-13.
Ebay does nothing to police the sellers.
