Help with Road Bike

Hi, I recently found a road bike that was dumped onto the streets for garbage collection. It wasnt in too bad a shape so I took it and cleaned it up.
I'm not really familiar with the brands of bikes so can someone please tell me a little about this bike and the brand (eg. how much its worth etc)

Near the handle bars it has a logo saying "Alps Industries Japan"....and on the frame it has this big "R" on it with the word "Record", but on the bottom of the frame, it says "Yamaguchi Frame". And btw, it has Shimano pedals (these brands any good?)
I'll try and get a photo if possible

Yamaguchi is a cool company, here's a link. http://www.yamaguchibike.com/frames/index.htm
Not sure what model you have there though, pics would help

yamaguchi is famous for their high end track frames. Record is good. Consider yourself lucky

Seriously man, did you steal this bike? Nobody in their right mind would throw away a Yamaguchi frame. First of all, they are all custom built, so the frame alone would cost in excess of $1200 add to that the cost of Campy Record components which are also way over $1300 with a set of wheels and you've easily got a $2500 bike brand new. Granted, it may be old, but what idiot would throw away a custom steel frame from one of the world's best builders + Campy Record components?!

Tell the truth. Where did you pick up this bike?

First of all, its not a campy record...the brand of the bike is called "Record"

I don't know much about bikes, but i checked out that yamaguchi site that larue posted, and it says they're based in colarado but my bike says (Yamaguchi JAPAN)...i dunno if thats any different.

I DID pick it up off the streets, and like you said, it can't be very expensive cos then they wouldnt have thrown it away (gears were clogged up, but all i had to do was add that derusting stuff then it worked fine)
btw, does it mean that the bike is good quality if its made in Japan? (like electrical goods)

I'll try to post a photo tomorrow
