What bike brand parallels which car brand?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What bike brand parallels which car brand?

Here's a few of my ideas:

Jamis is Hyundai because they're both smaller and newer in comparison to the rest of the scene. Jamis's Xenith bikes are also getting much award like Hyundai's Genesis cars. They also are a great deal.

Specialized is GM because they both have an incredibly diverse selection and are HUGE companies.

Don't let this start any fights. Can you tell I'm bored?

I think Trek is more GM-ish than Specialized because of all the sub-brands.

I think Trek is more Ford because I find they kinda started the restart of road cycling with Lance and such, (Ford w/ Model-T). I'd say Gary Fisher is their Mercury. Specialized is bigger than Trek too.

Model T, Lance Armstrong. Hmmm, Okie Dokie.

What about Bontrager, Klein, Lemond, Matrix, Jazz, etc.

I think Trek outsells Specialized.

I like Ford better than GM myself, but personally I prefer Asian car manufacturers. Here's more ideas:

BMC is BMW due to nationality, name, and how they try to display their products. Fast and performance.

Giant is Honda. Neither simply follow the trends. Both make a reliable product.

Interesting topic ....... the CAAD10 to me is like the Lancer Evolution or the Subaru WRX STI. Truly capable of keeping up with the other expensive bikes but at an affordable price. Same thing with the cars mentioned. Put them in the track with the more expensive Corvette's and Ferrari's and you'll be amazed at what they can do. Best bang for the buck I think.

De Rosa would have to be some small expensive boutique car maker. Tesla? Not enough history. I'm not enough of a car buff to come up with a good one.

Bianchi is Alfa Romero or Maserati. Ancient, not necessarily supercar, and luxurious.

Koenigsegg or Pagani would be a better fit instead of Tesla.

Delta 7 = Ariel ???

Actually I guess Ariels are more like that one magnesium frame from back when.

Kirk Precision = Ariel - that's more like it.

Cars are entire units

bike companies sell you a chassis and transmission you supply the engine

the two aren't comparable

Snowed in, are we?

I'm trying to find a bike that's like a Volvo XC70, but none have AWD and heated seats.

When I saw the thread title I immediately thought of Felt being comparable to Hyundai or Kia. Relatively new to the market place, less money than the bigger brands for a remarkably similar product, and one of the best values out there.

Cannondale is Toyota. Nothing fancy, just a good reliable piece of equipment.
