Need Help Identifying Road Bike and Wheels

Hey everyone. I am most likely buying this bike tomorrow and am somewhat clueless as to what it is since the seller only knows that is says jamis and 55cm.

But it had full 105 group, steel Black Paint scheme. Any help would be greatly appreciated to help me make sure purchase is worth it. Also, I am curious as to what wheels those are as well. Sorry the picture is so shotty, this is what he gave me.

Edit: Nvm I'm an idiot.

You're not exactly giving us a whole to go with here.

It might be a 1994 eclipse. The Shimano 105 8 speed group dates the components back to between 1994-1998. The frame looks to be from the 1980's. I'm not aware of any 90's bikes with those colors and the name written on the top tube.

The 8 speed shimano 105 group isn't bad. The shifters hold up pretty well if you flush them with WD-40 on occasion. The wheels are Mavic CXP33's if i'm not mistaken, which is a decent wheel. It looks pretty well worn but serviceable. If you are comfortable wrenching on your own bike and are looking for something cheap and efficient, it would be a good deal. If the wheels spin true and smooth, the bottom bracket and headset feel good, and she shifts decently, i would probably offer at the most $300 for it. If you need to do any work on it subtract the cost from that number. I would expect you to be able to buy it for $200. right now is a buyers market. If its not exactly what you want , you should wait.

I just saw a 2006 Orbea with 10 speed Dura Ace and Bontrager X Lites sell for $600.

I would recommend keeping a look out for something newer with higher quality parts. Start with a great frame and upgrade as needed.

This bike would be a good entry level bike but that's about it.

*** i just noticed that you have a 2006 Allez. Why are you looking at this bike?

Good question. I could not tell how many gears the bike had. I thought it was a 3x9 speed 105 in which I was going to upgrade from my sora parts to 105 nd then keep the bike around as a spare or to build up as touring bike or bad weather bike. Probably worth skipping out on this? Totally appreciate the info as I have like none other than that picture and the guy said he bought it used but it's slightly too small for him.

I thought it was an Interceptor with Swapped out touring boxes.

Is that a biopace sticker on the crank? I wouldn't give over $150 for it. Its 20 years old.

looks like a 55cm jamis...

Yeah, I skipped out on the deal. There is no way he'd let it go for under 200 and I dont think I'd spedn more than that on it. Not as a 3rd rd bike that won't get used.
