Caliper Brake Install Question...
Sorry, first time dealing with road caliper brakes (only dealt with disc and v-brakes before).
In the pic below, is the serrated washer already on the brake (Blue arrow) for shimano/sram and the serrated one on the carpet (Green arrow) for Campy systems? I use one or the other right? Wouldn't the serrated washer dig into the brake bridge and the carbon fork if tighten? Is that bad? Or is that the way to grip and make sure the install is secure? Or do I need another type of washer or rubber/plastic ring/washer? Thanks! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...akeWashers.jpg pic of my bike's brake bridge... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...rakeBridge.jpg |
rubber washer.

Just use the alloy washer that is on the brake caliper. Use them both if your brake pad touches the fork. The serrated washer works much better than a smooth washer. You do not need to have gorilla strength to tighten the brake. The washer will leave a imprint in the fork but it is not harming it.
