Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Which bike for a new kid?

Hi all! I'm in the market for a nice bike for my little sister. She's 15 years old and she's interested in getting into the biking scene. She really enjoys riding but her $100 bike from target just isn't cutting it anymore. So wanna buy a better bike for her as her birthday gift.
I've just looked into this bike. Am I on the right track? Is it nice bike for girls? I honestly have no idea what's out there. As to bike, I know little about female stuff. Any other good options?/

As soon as i saw 'Cadillac' in the title:
Cadillac Women's 17-Inch AV-H Hybrid Bike $183.00

I thought of your sister's current bike 'not cutting it any more'. Then I read the
Super Hot ~ May NOT Last Long

bit and figured you were joking about the whole thing. But I think you're serious?

Mmmh anyway, you might like to try in the hybrid forum. However, just wondering what is it about the current bike that's not good, that this bike will fix?

If you want road biking, I started my biking with a 2007 Specialized Allez. Specialized makes great bikes, and probably has a female counterpart for the Allez.

I think it's called the Dolce. Entry level Specialized is a great place to start.
