First ride of 2011 and I was...
too warm. 46 degrees and I had one too many layers on.
Beautiful ride, and great weather for PA. Waited 2 weeks to finally get to have a decent ride. Might even get out on the 2nd of Jan. also. Life's good! |
Great. Where did you go?
I'm familiar with the Brandywine Valley. |

51 I was so cold.....i only brought arm warmers.....beautiful day, sunny, bright, but what is left over from an artic storm was on its way out.
and then i got a flat. did 21 miles uninterrupted. |
I was reminded rollers and Trainers are still not the outdoors... did 65 km in 6 degrees Celcius
was reminded but the local elite riders that indoors fitness is different than outdoor fitness but it's January so I'll be aiming for 1 to 2 rides outdoors a week now |
Started at 27F and ended at 37F. Not a cloud in the sky. Just gorgous. Almost 3 hours and I was dressed perfect, sometimes cold, sometimes warm.
|
Was in the upper 40s low 50 maybe. body was about right but i could have gone without the light gore-tex mitten shells i wear over my long finger gloves. would rather have my hands a bit warm than cold though so i kept them on.

Wife and I did 25miles in MA. 50F with lots of snow on the ground and sloppy sanded and salted roads. Great ride though. Will probably go out again tomorrow and wash the bikes after that.

Jeez, I would be sweating like a hog if I went out in 46 degree heat. It never gets above 30 here, but where I used to work we had a record of 52 degree one summer. Carburettor cars won't even run properly above about 45 degree.

Did 25 miles here in beautiful SoCal. Was a bit cold by CA standards when I started, but was nice and warm by the time I wrapped up.

Wendy and I went on a 70 mile ride today with 2 other riders. Low 40's at the start to low 50's at the finish. Overcast almost the entire ride with rising humidity and a lite southern breeze. Could not have been a better day for easy riding thru the North Carolina country side. We had just over 3500' of climbing and fantastic scenery.

A 33 mile ride, started in the waning light of a clear winters day and ended in the dark, illuminated with my new Dinotte lighting system. 23 degrees F, 24 mph headwind going out, somewhat less on the return but still enough for a strong push. A lovely quiet ride with very few cars and the ghostly sound of wind rushing through the pines. Also using my new Garmin 500-love it.

Yeah it was too beautiful not to ride in PA today. I just did a mere 15 miles but through mud/streets and snow melt with my girlfriends father. Was about 45-50 degrees and an absolutely beautiful day for New Years.

Went 21 miles here in So. Cal also. It was cold for So. Cal but not too bad.
