Yeah, I know. But for this particular bike, I wanted a strong (translation: Real world rideability) 15lb-ish build.
My next bike will be Red-----> https://www.cannondale.com/bikes/road...x-evo-sram-red

reading about the evo it looks like the Liquigas paint job adds 20% of the frame weight.
https://velonews.competitor.com/2011/...six-evo_171341
Original prototypes of the frame weighed 570 grams (Denk goes to Asia and builds the first frame himself, in the mold that has already been cut); pre-production prototypes weighed 630 grams; and final production frames, with the minimal finish on the Ultimate model, weigh 695 grams.
Amazingly, the Liquigas team paint job adds 20 percent to the frame weight, bringing it to around 850 grams! Oh well; Cannondale still provides the team with 400-gram plastic-coated steel slugs to drop into the seat tube and bring the bikes up to the UCI-mandated minimum weight

I noticed a small crack in my paint while inspecting my frame yesterday. Going to check it out, and see if I can get it warrantied. If not I am thinking of sanding it all down, and doing a thin flat black coat, and then topping it off with 2 gloss black down tube stickers. Kinda like the R5CA paint.

Actually, when I wrote "real word reliability", I meant a bike that wasn't light just for the sake of being light.
For example, I went with Ksyrium Elites when I could've had a set of wheels that was 1/2 a pound lighter.
I could've used a cockpit that was another 1/2 pound lighter.
Tires, tubes, groupset, could've gone much lighter there too.
I could've conceivably taken this bike down to low 14's if I was chasing just weight savings.
But, I wanted a bike I could ride hard, shift hard under load, bunny-hop over things and that would take a NYC beating.
And "that's" what I meant by that statement.

If we publicly know that there is a 630g EVO, that means that there has to be an even lighter one in hiding!

(and, it has been just as tried and as tested as the current EVO is)

If I was, why would I post that my next bike would be Red? duh?

Gotcha. I will say, my Red took a hard slam, and none of it broke.

Looks great. Love the blacked out look. But don't you have different rings and your girlfriend did some work on the fork's graphics?
Is that the Bontrager XXX stem? Did you happen to weigh it? I've been wanting one, but for the love of God, they are expensive.
Also, I've been wanting to ask. The cranks look darker than I remember Ultegra SL being. Is it a special darker version made for the bike?

Thanks.
My GF has some more work to do on it (seat tube labels, headtube plate, possibly the side of the stem, etc...).
The current ring is a Dura Ace 7800. I always preferred the SL's look. The 7800 is a slightly smoother shifter.
I'm going to take it back to the original Ultegra SL "look" with a better ring than both the SL and the DA:
Shimano Yumeya YM-FC91 (supposedly even smoother than the 7800 ring)

Here is the pic again of my current fork with the customized paint.
Tomorrow, I'll post pics of the bike as completed. I had to detail it.
It's been in and out of the shop and been ridden a bit.

It's a Bontrager Race XXX Lite @ 135g. They are basically re-branded Zipp Stems.
They've gone back up in price now, but I've seen them go for as low as $150.
(I got mine for $125./new during the winter which is the absolute best time to pick up deals).
I've found Zipp stems for about $170. If you want one, wait until the winter to get one.
Are they worth the $150.? For me, yes. I really love the solid feel of my cockpit.
The SL's looking darker would be attributed to lighting. They are definitely darker than 7800 cranks though.
The chainring will be an effort to tone down the crankset. If I couldn't have found a better performing ring,
I wouldn't have changed the 7800 chainring. I would've lived with the silver somehow. It's that sweet.

Does anyone know or have the actual weight of the Bontrager Race XXX Lite Carbon seat post, specifically the 31.6 330 and 31.6 400?

I always find this interesting. My sub 12lb bike is my daily bike- I use it for commuting-- while it's not NYC, I'm sure you're not descending at 40-50mph on crappy roads either. You'd be surprised at just how well my 183g handlebars (and the ones before that 158g) and my 82g stem hold up. BTW, the only reason I switched handlebars was my fitting results- I needed a shorter reach/drop. Those schmolke tlo bars were used over 2 years with zero issues and the guy I sold them to is still using them. I use an ax-lightness saddle- I've had it over a year now, I went w/ ax lightness because it's the one item they make that seems to be well proven- there are people with 4 and 5 year old saddles made by them.
If you know what light/ultralight stuff to use, it works really well.

If you can get it at a decent price buy it. If it doesn't work out you can probably get most or all of your money back by selling it (and possibly make a profit).

I thought about getting one of those Zipp stems. I know how stiff they are, but I'm a little put off by their weight and also think they're kind of ugly.

How much do you weigh and how much did you spend?
I'm 225lbs and I spend a total of $3,500.
