Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have been riding clipless forever and it happened to me about a month ago. At the end of a ride I stopped at the bottom of our driveway to get the mail. Leaning against the mail box I then started up the driveway slowly...too slowly and toppled over. I was caught under the bike on the downslope and trapped. Felt like a complete idiot. Could just about all the neighbors laughing.

this has never happened to me.. when i learned to ride as a kid, my dad used to tie my feet to the pedals so i was forced to learn to balance... so when i went clipless it was second nature - then he used to run old planks across pools filled with alligators and force me to ride across blindfolded.. damn the life of the circus

a friend of mine just got his first set of clipless pedals, and it was so funny when we came to a stop and as he was heading down all we heard him say was "here we go" so of course we all laughed, well the majority of us...

it has not happened to him again.
