Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Stolen Bike

Hey all, my race bike was stolen this weekend in California. Please keep an eye out on Cl and any other site you may frequent! It is one of 5 in the world so it should not be that hard to spot-lol

That sucks. Nice bike. We need to invent an anti-theft where spikes shoot out of the saddle if it's not disarmed first.

Very soon you'll have 20-gram GPS transmitters that you can shove in your seat tube and thus be lead to any stolen bike. Roadies won't purchase it because they'll balk at both the weight and the "waste" of the $5 recurring monthly charge for the service.

I'm sorry about the bike. That's a major violation.

Was it stolen at a race?

This is becoming a problem. FWIW, we just had a teammate who had her garage robbed. 6 bikes gone. good news is they made an arrest. I have a feeling there will be other bikes popping up. File a police report and check with insurance. I went through the same thing in November. Insurance covered mine.

bike was stolen at team camp, police report was filed, insurance contacted. Hopefully i'll get everything covered. It was INSIDE of my truck at a resort, they stole my sleeping bag, Oakley's and a few other items as well....then when i was leaving i realized they stole the gas out of my truck as well, all i could do was laugh at that point.
