Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

24" wheeled road bikes

My 9 yr. old son is thinking that he would like to start riding on the road with me. Is there any road bikes with 24" wheels other than this Orbea?
https://www.orbea-usa.com/fly.aspx?me...duct&taxid=244

I am not sure I want to invest $900 until I am sure he will stick with it. It also seems a little pricey for the components it comes with.

They used to be fairly common in the "Boom" period. Other than survivors from that period I haven't seen many. I believe Colnago makes one but they're hardly known for low prices.

Good luck and if you find a maker let us know.

You can pick up a Bianchi Brava as small as 44cm
Not sure what the wheel size would be, but 44cm is a small bike.
My son started riding at age 10 and I had him on a 52cm with 700c wheels, look pedals and he did great, I actually have him on a bike thats too big for him now, but I put a shorter/smaller stem on and his seat is lowered where the bike fits rather well and he is growing into it.
Good luck, let us know what happens
