Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Any opinions....Sette, Harbor Freight, or Nashbar Torque wrench

I was going to buy a 5Nm Ritchey Torque key and try to take out the 4mm bit, but I think I these are only a bit more, and they will be more versatile obviously.

Nashbar (same as Performance one):

I have the harbor freight torque wrench. It's decent, especially for the price.

I would say do NOT get the Harbor Freight wrench. I did and it's worthless. It doesn't work at all. I broke two seatpost collars from way overtightening them. I followed instructions too. I think a lot of cyclists generally fall into the trap of thinking more expensive is better, which is why I bought that item despite people on the forum saying not to, but this is one case where it's like throwing money down the drain.

Perhaps I just got a defective item and others work, but the kicker is that when I emailed them about a warranty replacement they didn't respond. I also posted a negative review to their site that NEVER SHOWED UP on the site.

I have Park Beam type wrench now and love it, even though you have to buy two models to cover a wide enough range.

+1.

Park Tools. Even their cheapest torque wrench is better than those listed.

I just went through this decision a couple of days ago and after some extensive research (mostly the BF search engine) I decided to go for the combination of the Park TW-1 and Pedro's Hex Bit Set. Came to ~$55 (incl. shipping) from Amazon.

I have a couple of ratchet-type torque wrenches and the problem with them is if you forget to store them set to "0" the calibration will drift, and this has happened to me a few times in the past. It's just not worth risking my new $2K frame so I decided to invest a few bucks and go with the much safer "beam type" wrench from Park where I don't have to worry about such a problem.
