Can I strip paint off anodized TCR frame w/o damaging the anodizing?
I asked this question a couple of years and did not get very many confident answers.
I still have not done this and am about to pull the trigger on the Aircraft stripper. Thought I would check one last time to see if any of the newer guys had dealt with this.
I have a 2001 TCR 0 frame that is loosing its stickers and the paint is damaged.

As you can see in the picture the rear half of the frame is naked black anodized aluminum. A call to Giant confirmed that the entire frame is black anodized aluminum and that I should be able to remove the paint & stickers to render the entire frame a cool flat black anodized aluminum. Hopefully, I can just leave the rear half of the frame alone.
Does anyone know how to do this without damaging the anodized surface below? I am thinking a methylene chloride based paint remover and some wood or plastic scrapers with some cotton rags. Will I have a different look from the stripped part to the originally naked part?
I worry a little that the paint has soaked somewhat into the pores of the aluminum and the whole thing will have to be powdercoated.
I have a new fork and stickers so I just want to get at that beautiful black anodized surface underneath.
Any advice is appreciated.
