Minoura or Blackburn?

Hi everyone,

I am considering buying a trainer for my girlfriend as it is already snowing here in Calgary.

I can't afford a Cycle-ops trainer, although I know they are good.

I have my eyes on either a Minoura HyperMag or the Minoura 850R trainer or a Blackburn Fluid Trainer.

Can any one give me advice on which is better? Minoura seems to be a good brand, but I can't find too much on Blackburn. Is Blackburn a POS and should I bother?

Thanks for all the help.

I've had a Blackburn fluid trainer for a few years now and have never had an issue with it. It gives a good and pretty realistic workout. I can't speak to the other trainer you mentioned.

How much are these trainers your looking at? and what is the wattage capability?

Have had a Minoura for 10+ years, used it so much there is a nice groove in the roller... It's a magnetic version, quieter than a fan version, but still makes a racket, and creaks like it's about to explode. Does the job...
