First Road Bike
I have been riding a Trek 7.2 FX for a year, doing 5 metric centuries last year, and now because of my geeky fantasy football winnings, and a little thrown in from uncle sam, I will be picking up this bike on Friday:
https://www.cannondale.com/usa/usaeng...-Carbon-6-Apex
I got the Charcoal color (which is actually black and white, lol)
When I rode this bike I was blown away, in my opinion it rode better then the Trek Madone 4.5.
Anyone have any thoughts on this bike? Any experiences? I am not asking whether or not to buy it, as after the ride I was convinced. Anything negative about Cannondale that one should be aware of?
Thanks for the responses!

Actually, do a search and you'll find that BF loves Cannondales. Especially the CAAD's. You got quite a step up from a 7.2. Hope you like it and post some pics of your bike. Otherwise people won't comment on a new bike thread as much. Let us know what you think of the Apex group too.

Cannondale makes great bikes. If it fits and you like the shop, there is nothing to worry about. You will like it way better than the 7500 FX. If you search around the forum, you will see that Cannondale is almost universally respected. That may be why you did not get many answers.
Edit: eippo1 beat me to it.

I have a 2010 Cannondale Synpase Carbon 5 (105) and I really like the bike. I knew it was the right bike for me after riding it a few miles in cargo shorts on a test ride. I used to have a Trek 7200 Hybrid and going from that to my Jamis Ventura Sport was a VAST improvement. Your 7.2 is unfortunately going to be gathering dust once you get that Cannondale.

What a coincidence...
I've had a FX 7.5 for 8 months and have put 2500 miles on it. And, I'm ready to upgrade to a road bike. I am looking seriously at the Synapse 3 (Ultregra), along with a Madone 5.2.
I rented a Synapse from the LBS last weekend and put 80 miles on it. It was well worth the $60 to do more than a few circles in the parking lot.
Now I just need to find a Madone to rent.
..but I lost money in my SuperBowl pools.

We merely ask that you photograph your bike in front of a garage door with the stem flipped downward, the gears shifted into the big/small position, valves hidden behind frames and fork, crank arms aligned with either the chain stays or down tube, steer tube trimmed, tire labels lined up with valves, and saddle level. Most people will give you kudos, maybe one or two will find some snarky thing to decry, and then an argument will erupt over some minute detail. We thank you in advance for your consideration.
