Speed play pedals with Platformers

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Speed play pedals with Platformers

I use Speed Play pedals and am wondering if the Platformer accessory works as advertised?

The Platformer is mid way down this page:

https://www.speedplay.com/index.cfm?f...me.merchandise

I commute on my road bike in street shoes and this would help me get my Fred on faster (faster than changing pedals).

Since it's sold by Speedplay for their pedals, my guess is they work as advertised. Not sure what could go wrong.

For $24, it seems to accomplish what you're looking for.

Don't actually have a pair, but they look kind of cheap. I'll stick with my old LOOK pedals that have an aluminum platform on the side opposite the clipless mechanism.

They are very fragile. If you put too much weight on them or take off from stop a little too hard, they will crack. I have gone through two pairs already. That said, if you remember to be very gentle with them, they are pretty handy when you want to pedal with street shoes.

I'm not much of a gamer, but I recently got Super Mario Bros Wii, and it's awesome! Classic 2d side-scrolling action, lots of variety in the challenges, and mighty nice graphics. Love the cooperative play!

Can't see how you'd use Speedplays with it, though.
