Has anyone heard of " Ahmad bicycle online "

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Has anyone heard of " Ahmad bicycle online "

Not a Shill.
Just came up on this online store, which apparently is an internet store front for a bicycle shop in Indonesia.

The prices seem too good to be true:
Compagnolo Hyperon wheelset 1400 USD,
Cyfac absolu frameset 2k,
Cyfac Gothica frameset 1400.
Has anyone bought from them and are they a legitimate business?

Here is the web address:
www.ahmadbicycle.com

Any information is appreciated

According to AMEX, Indonesia is the worst offending country when it comes to credit card fraud. At least that's what they told me.

Well in their "about us" section it says:

".... our goals are simply stated: no cheats to customers, no harm to consumers and always providing best products with best price"

So you can take comfort in that...

In all seriousness there have been a few threads on Indonesian based internet bike retailers. It's worth checking if the manufactures list these sellers as Indonesian agents - I'm guessing they don't.

If you want cheap bike components go for the local Taiwanese brands, they aren't complete crap. IE. microshift, kinlin, etc.

"It's worth checking if the manufactures list these sellers as Indonesian agents - I'm guessing they don't."

That pretty much does it. Look at the site, pick a smaller bike manufacturer, go to their website and see if they have a list of authorized dealers. If this outfit isn't on it, not a good sign.

a quick google search, 10 pages in doesn't show any complaints...

Whois lookup doesn't pull up much, though I'm no internet sleuth.

That falls under my rule of "If you feel that you need to say something that should be assumed, you're probably lying".

Try calling them. If Peggy answers the phone, hang up and don't call back.

Oops. Look like Pinarello has two dealers in Indonesia (or maybe the same one with two locations- emails are the same for both)- but the outfit listed doesn't seem to be one.

I don't think they'll scam you, as in send you nothing. You will probably get a very, very good Pinarello or Cervelo fake with a really nice look-alike Di2 that works reasonably well. It will probably ride and handle as well as the real thing. It probably won't crack or fall apart. The wheels probably won't delaminate on a fast downhill. Your riding buddies probably won't be able to tell the difference.

If "probably" is worth saving 000's of dollars to you then it's a good deal.

Totally legit. You should definitely take out a large loan, using your home as collateral in order to buy a large volume of bikes and components to resell.
