You might want to check on that - I don't believe that is correct.

I checked it. I would ride the largest size. The Helix, R230 and Cooper all have a 59CM top tube and a 20.75CM head tube. The Sportive has the same top tube but a shorter head tube which eliminates the Sportive from consideration. I would probably go with either the R230 or the Cooper, the Helix is little pricey for me.

wow, beautiful bikes!!! now i've got one more thing added onto my wish(dream) list.

Even though I've literally just finished building up a new bike I find myself getting very curious about Ti frames. What are the qualities compared to other materials? I know about the strength with a little more weight but what's the ride quality like?

Like everything else, it depends on how it's designed. Most Ti I've ridden is great gliding over chipseal, but the frames built with more race-oriented goals all hurt more than steel or carbon over the big bumps, likely because of the larger diameter tubing used to achieve that responsiveness. The comfort-oriented Ti frames give up a little on hill climbs, but probably not enough for a recreational rider to get worked up about. The light weight and durability are the biggest pluses for Ti as far as I'm concerned. It's a nice ride.

here's a shot of my new Cooper from a few days ago:
http://i1195.photobucket.com/albums/...erMitering.jpg

Should be arriving next week. Got it in the industrial mill finish, but I've got some scotch-brite pads ready, so depending on how I like the look of the mill finish, and how anxious I am to get it built up and ride, I may decide to give it the hand-brushed finish on my own. Based on what I'm hearing from a few others in this thread, it doesn't sound like it's too difficult.

[QUOTE=giantdefy;12620618]Well, did you get your Lynskey? Post pics!

Here it is. Got it a couple of weeks ago, and just got around to taking photos. I'm loving it so far. So much smoother than my old aluminum Giant. And the SRAM stuff is so much crisper than my old 105.
Build details are listed below.

Short answer-- no.

I had just swapped out my saddle this morning before I took a few photos, and I didn't realize how far off it was until after I'd taken these photos. It's since been leveled out. I was swapping out my old Arione for this Selle Italia that came in the build kit from Lynskey to test out which I liked more. We'll see.

Will be changing out the stem and seatpost after I get a fitting and get comfortable with everything. Probably going to go Ritchey WCS or Thomson. Other than those tweaks, I'm happy with how everything else turned out with the build. It's a blast to ride and i just need to get more miles on it.

Me thinks the Thomson seatpost looks so much better than the Ritchey.

Agreed. The Thomson would be my preference, but I'm waiting until I get a complete fitting done to determine the appropriate offset for me. I'm not crazy about the look of the Thomson setback posts, so if I determine the zero offset Thomson wouldn't work well for me, I'd probably go with the Ritchey WCS to match the bars and stem.

went out on my normal training route. The cooper is a dream to ride!

That is a painted Alpha fork, I think Alpha may be defunct now, not sure. The wheels are Fulcrum 3's with the decals removed, for anti-bling factor.

Seeing some of the lovely bikes in this thread, I'm a little embarrassed by mine to be honest. Why did I put those shiny cages on? Why didn't I clean it after riding in the rain last week?

Anyway, yes, they are excellent finishers. They used to have a section on custom paint on their web site but it seems to have been removed, I can't get to it now. Maybe they are moving away from that, now that they have more of a web store?

My blue bike is pretty boring, I have seen some wild Lynskey paint jobs. Like this one:

Hey, I just noticed that Coopers don't have the clover dropout detail any more -- you can see it in my pic, but not any other the other bikes in this thread, and I see Dr. Pete's R230 doesn't have a clover detail either.

Maybe they dropped it to keep the cost down? Does anyone know when they stopped using that detail?
