Blue Red Black Yellow Green?
Why are these colors on lots of road bikes? I have been seeing it more and more on Specialized and Felt and many others. What do the colors mean?

i dont think they mean anything except that you arent limited to black and silver... I like my red (looks orange to me...) Felt... I won't lie, the color was part of the appeal.

I bought my bike because it was on sale.
Color doesn't mean much when you are riding your bike.

I believe the OP is referring to the world champion colors as seen on some frames, components, and the rainbow jersey.

arc-en-ciel.
You can only wear the rainbow jersey if you've won a world championship, and only in the discipline in which you won it.
You can also wear rainbow trim on your jersey forever and ever regardless of discipline.
Same with stars and stripes jerseys. Only a national champion can wear stars and bars. The trim thing holds true here, too.
I've seen guys show up for Cat V races with just a hint of stars/bars on their jersey, and the ref made them remove it or put tape over it.
The Olympic rings are also those colors. Not in the same order.

Yes Flatsix! Those colors! So the frames that have those like my Specialized have won a world championship of some sort?

I think it means that some rider won a world championship on one of their bikes. Like on a Gazelle, for example.

I find it really strange that so many cyclists don't know anything about pro racing at all. I mean you wouldn't have a bunch of hockey players sitting around and looking at a picture of the Stanley Cup and being like, "hey what the heck is that anyways?"
I'm not criticizing or anything, I mean everyone likes what they like. Just commenting.

It's probably because cycling can be an activity and not a sport. There are even cycling club members who just like the fun of riding a bicycle without even thinking of it as a competitive activity. I know tons of kids and adults who like to just ride their bikes, but you don't find people who get a puck and stick just to skate around a rink with it.
