Bike Wall Hanger for Carbon Wheels

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bike Wall Hanger for Carbon Wheels

I did a rack (no not that kind of rack) to hang all my bikes on the wall to create more space. Does anyone makes a hanger for deep section carbon rims?

If nothing is available I will have to swap the front wheel to an aluminium wheel before I hang the bike. I am too tired and lazy after a ride to do this. Hoping something is out there that will save me 35 seconds to get to my beer

Why do you need a special hanger exactly?

58mm rims do not fit the hooks I found at Home Depot. Also looking for something designed for carbon wheels.

I'm using the Racor B-1R Solo for my 60mm wheels. I have to put it in at an angle to get it to fit, but it works ok. The foam tore up fast but some electric tape fixed that.

Nice setp rdubzz. I see you took the time to stain and finish your rack. My rack is not as nice as yours.

The hangers I got are made by Rubbermaid and look similar to your Racor B-1Rs except the hooks are hinged. I know that carbon wheels are structurally strong but was afraid a rounded contact point will damage the wheel. I assume you have been doing this without any problems.

thanks! no issues so far. i figure if the wheels can support my 180lbs ass, they should be fine holding my 16lbs bike.

I have this wrapped around my hanger pegs to protect the rims when hanged provides a nice cushion.
It's just hot water pipe insulation

I have those Rudy racks and they work great, they don;t touch the wheel rims so no damage.

The Rudy rack looks like a good idea for wheels when very deep rims. The gap between the front wheel and the down tube of my bike is not that much. Maybe 1" or less. Wonder if the Rudy rack will work for me.

I would send off an email to them, or call the 800# first to be sure. I have not ordered from them yet. I just bookmarked the site (saw it in a previous thread) for future consideration.

I bought some hooks at Lowes that are not designed for bicycles but are perfectly good for hanging wheels. The hooks are sort of V shaped and the wheels hang flat against the wall.
