Should I upgrade my wheels?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Should I upgrade my wheels?

Following great advice on this forum, I am about to upgrade my tyres from standard tready road tyres to full-on slicks.

My question now is: Would it be a good idea to upgrade my wheels at the same time? What is the lowest budget on which this could be sensibly done?

The answer is a definite maybe.

What are your current wheels?

What kind of bike do you ride?

What's your budget?

What kind of riding do you do, and

What do you hope to get out of the upgrade?

I think everyone should get new wheels whenever they get new tires....but I'm a little biased

As Merlin implied with his questioning there needs to be some assessment from you as the rider to really know whether or not you should pursue new wheels. Even if it ends up being, "because I just want some new wheels" then so be it.
