caad9 5 or felt z85

Hi,

Thank you for all of your help with my last question regarding theTrek 1.5 or Felt z85.

I finally got to ride a z85 and it felt great (no pun intended) and was thinking of going that way. However I stopped by another shop and found a leftover Cannondale caad9 5 for the same $ as the Felt. The specs seem similar and I am wondering what your thoughts are?

Thanks

Two different geometries. CAAD is more race oriented and the Z85 is more comfort oriented. What are your cycling plans?

I don't think I'll be racing anytime to soon, but it's not out of the question. Most of the time it will be solo rides of 15-30 miles, some group rides, and some charity rides. I would also think that the metric century ride is in the future.

Have you "ridden" the CAAD yet?

FWIW I picked up a new CAAD9 5 last Saturday and have never been happier with a stock bike - and I've ridden steel, full carbon, alu/carbon. My first "real" road bike was a Felt F75 and I sold it within 3 months of buying it because the fit wasn't good for me. So what should you do? Buy what fits. If its a complete toss up, the overall aesthetics of the CAAD frame is much more appealing to me and the CAAD9 is already a highly sought after frame being the last C'dale made in the States and is already a legend.

Thanks, I'm planning on a test ride tomorrow. It's good to know that the frame is made here.

Hopefully tomorrow
