I don't know if this has been posted before. Not sure if it's Mountain biking or Road biking or just insanity but it's thrilling!:thumb:

Yep it's been posted. Nope it's not road biking. At least you coulda posted the vid directly instead of from some blogish thing with annoying popups.

I wanted to see him try to go through the pipe.

CaptJohn 03-17-11 04:16 AM

Hahah the dog nearly got squashed. Insane video, the jumps are breathtaking.

WestCoastDan 03-17-11 09:08 AM

Some of those jumps looked to be quite a bit less stable than the ones we made as kids.
The course also looked to be only about 3 inches wider than most handlebars. I'll bet plenty have clipped the sides of the buildings and been turned into obstacles for the next contestants.
(maybe the ramps are propped up on their lifeless bodies)
I hope there was some type of prize for that, like maybe a free house or something.

I AMAZED that dude ran such wide bars! They look like uncut 28" bars! I know that's what all the DH and other super-gnar MTBers run these days, but seems like you might wanna take course conditions into consideration.

Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't run him thru the pipe at about 1:30.

And that series of steps, I'm sure others had clipped the rail or the wall to the sides.

At about 2:30, he lets out a chuckle.

Great video.

liquefied 03-17-11 10:27 AM

There's another video of the same run with a different rider who is faster than this one.

That one has some good dog action in it too. (if it's the one I'm thinking of - with the cam mounted on top of helmet)

LesterOfPuppets 03-17-11 10:37 AM

This isn't the other one I was thinking of - no dog action - but this one has lots of good second person shots from on the course, close ups of some of the riders' rigs and a little something for the ladies towards the end.

calamarichris 03-17-11 10:38 AM

Haha--my neck is sore from trying to get the camera to look up a little more.
Mad skills!

That is a good one.
Now I see how they set up some of the jumps.
They use the railing of the steps to make the ramp frames.
