Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Jen, congratulations on getting a trainer. I agree that for interval training, the trainer really makes it easy. One thing you might consider doing is a MAP test. Since you don't yet have a power meter, you can use the trainer and speed as guide, since speed is relative to power on a trainer. After a good warm-up, start at about 15 MPH and add 1 MPH per minute until you can no longer go anymore. If you make it beyond 30 seconds at your highest speed, keep the data. It's a convenient way to see if you are making improvements by performing the test periodically.

I used the Edge to collect data and be able to compare it later.

Correct. It does not mean an old frame that has been built up and ridden then torn down, but is still in pretty good shape.

I blame Rutgers for the OT loss.

You heard it here first, he said.

I hope to get the Canadians, and then the Penguins on our way to the Cup. Payback for both of them...

It was just time for Luongo to pull his head out. He is a dominating goalie, but seemed to have a lot of bad days against Chicago.

Chicago got him the last two years and almost in a colossal collapse this year. It sucks, but it's OK. The conspiracy theorists will conclude it's unhealthy for Chicago to have more than one dominant team each year. It's better for sports and it keeps the fans rabid.

If Boozer stops playing like a pansy, the Bulls are dangerous.

Since the Devils didn't make the playoffs for the first time in 14 yrs, I don't care who wins as long as the Rangers and Flyers lose. One out of two so far. I enjoy watching the Caps and the Habs though.

I just realized that I have had my new PowerTap wheel for over two months now and I still haven't mounted a tire or cassette on it. I suck.

I have them, just been lazy. Plus I doubt I could have touched yours for what I paid (employee purchase).

I stayed in a hotel not far from you for my cousin's wedding. The NU hotel. Very nice place. We loved that part of Bklyn.

I thought I put that 14mm wrench in my saddle bag, but nope.

Swapped saddles on my backup bike. Saddle evidently wasn't tight enough.

No wrench = shorter ride. Last mile standing.

At least the saddle didn't fall off.
