Gloves for possible nerve issues

Hey fellas, Just wondering if anyone has suggestions on gloves that might help with my right hand. I feel significant weekness in my thumd and index finger since I have started riding. It has gooten better since I found some cold weather gloves that have padding, although limited. I believe my problem come from pressure points in the middle and inner lateral points in my palm close to the wrist. I have researched but hoped to hear from people with experience in this area. Thanks in advance.

Ps I do change hand position very frequently and have worked on posture and stem height.

Yes, they work. I have some pretty badly beaten-up wrists and hands from playing college football, and they help me a lot.

I wanted to add to this thread I have somewhat the same problem mine pain comes from between my thumb and index finger with padded gloves. It's rather cold here now (23F) so I am kind of forced to wear padded warm gloves. I have noticed if I do not wear any gloves I can ride forever in the hoods without any figiting. Any suggesting on cold weather and warm weather gloves, I do prefer a full finger for some reason though.

I have been using Pearl Izumi P.R.O. gloves for a few years and find them helpful.

+1. Like you my wrists were beat up from college football and lifting crazy sized bombs in the Navy every day. I got the IRONMAN line and they are wonderful. They also have the best terry cloth in the industry on the backside of the glove which makes clearing any amount of snotrocket left overs a breeze :)

Not the ColdSnaps that I got for winter riding. The back of those is like sandpaper. Apparently I'm not the only one to notice:

We apologize for the inconvenience of being out of stock. As a result of the time it takes to manufacture our gloves we will not be getting any more Cold Snaps in for the winter season. We are happy to announce that we will be using this time to update the glove and are currently using customer feedback to improve the design of the glove. We will be adding a terry-cloth wipe to the glove to replace the mesh material at the bottom that extends out over the thumb that many of our customers have been asking us to add. We are also taking this time to adjust the sizes to match our other gloves as this glove has tended to run a half-size small.

We wish to thank all of our customers who sent us the great feedback on our Cold Snap gloves and we are excited to bring you a new and improved version of it in time for the Fall season of 2011.
Still, they're on sale for $19....

Seriously, you are going to find that gloves with minimal padding are going to cause less pain. Pearl PRO and Specialized both are good. Seems counter intuitive but the thicker the padding the more pain I have and possibly you also.

Have you considered rotating your bars so that the hoods have more of an incline or decile depending on how your wrist flexes? I did this one thing and it helped me a great deal in this area. Also, I find gloves with less padding to be more comfortable.
