Hunting for cheap carbon soled shoes: is exustar the same as revel and cat-1?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hunting for cheap carbon soled shoes: is exustar the same as revel and cat-1?

Exustar seems to be a Chinese outfit selling cycling shoes.

Revel where the stiffest carbon soldd shoes I ever worn, also the cheapest.....

Wondering for size purposes if they are one and the same.....

can't tell you if they're the same, however i'm using the sr232 and it's a great shoe, however the insole leaves a bit to be desired, so i got some yoursole heat moldable insoles. love 'em. noticed that there's an e-bay seller getting rid of new ones cheap.

I picked up a pair of Exustar shoes on a whim a few years back. Not carbon-soled, but it turns out they are my favorite shoe for fit, firmness and durability.

How about Mavic Peletons for 99 dollars?

I rode these shoes for 2 years, they are amazingly good shoes for the money. If you don't care about weight, they are as good of quality as any shoes in the 100-250 dollar range IMO. Carbon sole + ratchet for 99 dollars is a steal.

I currently use these and love them: https://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-rc-carbo...cycling-shoes/

They were a bit cheaper when I bought them though.

Just bought these Exustars last week. I love them and they're super stiff. They were on sale for $65 when I bough them too, I don't think you can get carbon soled shoes for any cheaper than that. They run a little big thought, wish I would've gone a size smaller.

That last link is the same shoe as the exustar I rode. Great, but the stiff as hell carbon sole eventually detached itself from the rest of the shoe.... For $75 I guess to be expected....

Same one again. And yes they run big. I'm a Sidi 43 A shimano 42.5 (I hope!) and for Exustar a 44! Go figure....

They are all made in Dick Chaney's carbon bike parts factory in China.
