Speedplay X2's vs Zeros
For someone with bad knees, would the zeros or X2's be better? I would think the extra float wouldn't be noticed on the X2's but I could be wrong.
Also, I think I read somewhere that the X2's are structurally a lot different than the X5's, and they cost a lot more. With the Zeros though, the chromoly pedals seem structurally the same as the stainless steels ones, so cost-wise I think I would prefer to get the Zeros. Thanks |
Do you race? If you do get the Zeros. If you don't race, I would get the Light Action pedals before the X2s. The X2s have the old style spring. The Zeros and the Light Actions have the same spring. The Zeros have adjustable float but the LAs do not. The LAs take about half the amount of pressure to clip in and out that the Zeros do. The LAs were created for recreational cyclists.

Nothing wrong with the X2's...Both my wife and I use them and have not had any issues...Love the float, double sided entry and the easy in and out,....

I like the Zeros because of the adjustable float and find them pretty easy to get in/out of (but never accidently while climbing/sprinting). With the Zeros I have enough float that my knees are happy, but I've been able to adjust the float limit screws to limit heel in so that my shoe doesn't rub on the crank arms.

I like my x's I might get zeros if I were to do it over again but I prob would set them to full float anyway so......
