Parlee Z3 on eBay - DROOL

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Granted this isn't his latest and greatest model, but this is one sweet bike! Too bad it's about five sizes too small for me.

I have bought two used Calfees from internet sellers. If you are patient and keep your eyes on Ebay, one will come up that fits you. I paid a little less than half price for my used Calfee Tetra Pro four years ago. It looked new without a mark on it. I will probably own other bikes but this one will be with me until I take my last breath.

The ad says that he just spent $700 for a tune-up, new seat, new cassette, chain, and bar tape. That shop's hourly labor rate must rival some attorneys'.

Think about it though, new saddle is probably 150, dura ace cassette and chain end up being about 450, bar tape is 25, and a tune is probably 100, depending on the shop for a grand total of: 725
