Seat Post Paint Cracking

Hi Guys,

I thought I'd nip this one in the bud... The paint around the rim of the seatpost hole on my Giant Defy has a slight chip in it. I've not used excessive force to tighten the clamp, and was wondering what else could cause this and where I should start with curing it. I've heard nail polish, auto paint, but don't know which would be best.

Thanks

Ben

I wouldnt worry about it.

This would be great advice for someone who wasn't worried, but then again would someone who wasn't worried ask for a solution?

Nail polish or model paint. It's not a big deal.

I had a similar problem. It turned out my seat post clamp had a little "spur" on it that dug into the paint. I sanded the spur off and touched up the paint. It's been a year with no problems.
