Cable Routing Problem: from Braze Ons to Brifters/STI shifters

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cable Routing Problem: from Braze Ons to Brifters/STI shifters

i bought a DA 7700 group for my 84 team fuji.

i am supposed to put the chain on and install cables and housing...

but i just realized (doh) the braze ons are in the way for the derailleurs.

is there a simple solution to this?

There are cable housing stops that mount on your braze ons. The nice ones have a barrel adjuster. Shimano has a sweet one with a clicker. I'll find some pics if I have a chance.

Clicker goes on right side even though it's pictured on the left. It's a nice adjuster, the clicker is worth a turn or so of the barrel but you can click even with gloves on.

I want pictures of this build. The Opus III I have in my signature is one model above the Team. They are both great bikes.
