Yeah, Trek's archives say that. This year's comes with Tektro R540. Not a big deal if you ask me, but I do notice a performance difference over my old Ultegra brakes and my new bike's brakes that are so crappy that the manufacturer won't even put its name on them :D

I did upgrade my brake shoes only from Tiagra to 105 so I can use Kool Stop pads.

Hey guys, just curious to hear what bike you think is the better entry level road bike for longer rides!

What's your vote between:

Felt F75
Trek 2.1
Cannondale CAAD 10 ( the alum version not the full carbon)
Jamis Ventura race

The are all around the same price, but I wanna get the best bike for my buck!

I actually own a Jamis Ventura Sport, Felt F75 and a Cannondale Synapse Carbon. The F75 is smooth, (mine is a 2009 with carbon seat stays) efficient, fast and comfy enough for all day riding, but still agressive enough to race. The CAAD excels mainly as a race bike. I think you will get more bang for your buck and comfort going with a Felt or even Jamis. The Trek and Cannondale names also comes with a premium.

Yeah. Do a test ride and pick the one that feels best. Otherwise go with a Felt or Jamis because everyone else rides Trek and Cannondale.

So I went to go try out the F75 yesterday and they no longer carry it this season cuz it had a re-call on the fork I guess. ?? So knowing that my geometry is more relaxed what do you think between the Z6 or the Z85?? Since you ride this brand I'm just curious about your opinion? I think I like the look of the z85 but willing to bet the 6 is a better ride ( will test them out on Sat). I also like the wheels on the 85 better than the 6. Is it hard to swap out tires? cost?? Is it worth it??

The OP's question is relevant to another buyer. I appreciation the question, and also appreciate responses.
