Yup. I saw that. Buy it then sell everything else and you have some Di2 parts, but no DA crank or brakes (?).

Yes, I agree that a full Di2 group set would be much more desirable for this bike.
Not sure who the target market is here ... most would want full monte if considering Di2.

i love it when they list a $4,700 bike and says you get the whole bike for the cost of the group set alone. I've never seen Di2 sell for $4,700. Rediculous. It can be had for around $2000.

Post a link to Di2 for $2000. And not just the upgrade.

Is an electronic $4000 shifting mechanism realy worth it? Is it really $3000 better than the best wire system?

It shifts gears. I have a very hard time believing that it really makes thousands of dollars difference in one's ability to ride. I believe that 105 is worth the few hundred dollars it costs over Tiagra. I believe that DA is even better by a few hundred...but seriously, $4000 to shift gears on your bicycle?

I have Di2 and love it. After 100 miles as hard as you can go when your legs are jelly its nice to have the accuracy and ease of shift, mine has never ever missed or nearly missed a shift where as every cable system ive ever had has at some point not shifted correctly when i really needed it to. Is that worth $000? Not to most people. For me, its nice to have, and I think in the future there will be far more choice of electronic systems so its nice to have a frame ready for the wiring.
As for the bike above, I wouldnt buy it with the view to selling all but the Di2 because who is ging to buy the frame alone when it has no cable stops? Also that fork looks naff to my eyes

Oh and i just read the ad - Di2 is not almost telepathic at all as mentioned in the text, its like normal shifting but with more accuracy and less effort.

If I was going to spend that much on a bike I think I would be willing to shell out an extra $400 or so for a dura ace crank and brakes. Also wouldn't most people buying a bike at that level want a full size crank?

I'll bet that most folks buying di2 do so to make a fashion statement.

Throw the stick!!!!
As for the dura ace crank and brakes, neither do anything for me. I would rather have my planet-x brakes than the dura ace ones and I would definitely stick with my quarq crankset.

BD has always gotten you in the ball park with their bikes but never the grand stand home run you may have gotten if you shopped around. This deal is OK but like most replies have said Crank and brakes mean alot and are a lot. Their brakes (DA) are awesome high end stoppers and the crank is superb.
Two cents only.
