New seatpost
I am looking to buy a new seat post and would like some recommendations. I need a zero offset and am currently considering either a 3T Doric or a Thomson Elite or Masterpiece.

Thomson Masterpiece. So nice and machined into an artform.

I am not familiar with the 3T Doric Ltd but I have been using Thomson Elite for five years and it a great seat post. The 3T Doric appears to be similar to the Thomson. The Masterpiece has a 200 lbs weight limit which is why I am using an Elite.

The Nashbar carbon 0-setback seatpost is one of the better buys I've made lately.

I wasn't 100% convinced I needed to eliminate my setback so I wanted to try a 0-setback without dropping a bunch of cash.
It was worth it, I'm much more comfortable. I don't find myself on the tip of my saddle forcing me to readjust every few miles and I can't see any reason to spend anymore money on a more expensive post. It's light enough and well made. It also has the 2-bolt infinite adjustment that you need as well.
Added pic. As you can see, I painted the saddle clamp black and a small strip of black electrical tape protects the post from the saddlebag strap which also covers the Nashbar logo. Nobody will even know you cheaped out on your post, not that anyone cares what post you have anyway.
tchuss!

I have all three and the 3T lmt is the best. It is very light and the looks/finish is far superior. The Elite and Masterpiece are also great post and the clamping mechanism is a little easier to use. The finish on the Thomson's is also nice its just very plain.
You cant go wrong with any of them.

I had the 3T post with a Fizik saddle just like this one ^^^^ but it didn't work well when I tried to use the Fizik saddlebag with the ICS connector. The bag swings free, and would whack against the rear adjustment bolt, and dig into the bag.
Kind of a dumb reason to switch, but I just went to the Fizik Cyrano seatpost. It really looks nice, and is much easier to adjust than the 3T. I have no idea if there's any weight difference:

Yes it is high gloss and will scratch, but unless this is your first bike or you are still growing you should be able to measure your old bike set the height and leave it.

I have 3T stem and handlebars so I'm tempted to go with it 3T. I just haven't read very many positive reviews. On the flip side I haven't seen many negative reviews with the Thomson. I have an aluminum frame bike with a Specialized zert insert post right now. Can anyone tell a real difference with carbon versus aluminum seatpost.

not unless it is on a scale.
If you have the 3T stem and bars get the seatpost so they match. Like I said they are all great post, it comes down to budget and looks.
