I went from an old shimano shoe (can't remember model #) to the S-works shoe 2 years ago. Tried to like the Sidi's but once I put on the S-works it was all over. Fit is great, very light, and they have worn well. I will be a repeat customer. I love the boa system. Sorry, nothing but love for the S-works here!

S-Works. Specialized stands behind their product, one of my boa dials got tangled up and then broke. Took it to the store and they gave me a new pair of shoes on the spot. Not to mention comfortable and very stiff.

The BOA lacing system is guaranteed for life as well. If there is a problem with it they will send you out a new set. Ask me how I know...
I was a little concerned with the setup, but after getting a replacement in a very short time I am hooked on the new lacing system.

Love my S-Works. The left tounge seems to slip left slowly while I ride and that's the only complaint.
My shoes are the previous gen which have the uni-directional BOA dials. When I got the shoes I immediately e-mailed BOA and ordered 4 sets of dials and lacing so I'd have them on hand. I've replaced one when the lace got messed up. These parts are very cheap (or free in my case as a warrenty item) and easy to replace.
So, I really like the shoes and they look great. Mine are all black with white stripes which the don't offer any more.

you constantly hear the mantra here: "only if it fits". bike frames can be modified to a degree. shoes, not so much. like running shoes, bike shoe shape varies quite a bit from mfr. to mfr. find one that goes well with your foot shape.

ill head to the specialized store over the weekend to purhase these. Anything I should look out for when trying them on? I plan to strap them on and walk around with them and maybe wear them as long as i can so I can get a feel for them.
BTW, the rule of thumb for cycling shoes is to have about 1 cm of space infront, between the front of the shoe and toes? My current shoes are a bit too small and tight, once riding starts, our feet swells up a bit right?
Oh, I was watching a shoes fit video with shimano shoes and the pro fit worker that was assisting the customer tightened the top scrap first then the bottom straps. Does it matter whether to tighten top/bottom first? I have always tightend bottom to top.
Thanks

I'm not very satisfied with those shoes. Got them specifically for SPD-SL cleats. In fact, I'm so unhappy that I put the cleats on my ancient, but still very pristine lace-up Diadora shoes. My feet don't ache anymore.

I suggest bringing summer light socks and winter weight socks if you ride in winter weather. That way there will be no surprises in size later on.
