Fathers day wish list!

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Quarq Cinqo/SRAM S975 here. Never gonna happen. Good news is that drawings from my daughter and a nice dinner are good too.

I would like to thank this thread, though, for reminding me that I can use Father's Day as a cover for ordering those Zipp 808 Firecrests the other day.

I already got my wish....when the Brooks B72 on my Raleigh DL-1 gave up the ghost earlier this year and I wanted to replace it, the wife said, "Okay, but that's your Father's Day gift." I'm good with that.

All I want is a nice long ride in the early morning (no rain), followed by a nice pancake and coffee breakfast with the family.

My son will be just about the right age for his first ride in the Burley trailer, so that's what I want... and I want him to like it!

New tires for my new Soul's.

And an early morning, good-weather ride.

More bibs, to replace the ones with the seams opening up around the pad. Maybe I should consider rotating more than 2 pairs of bibs if I want them to last longer?!

my Daddy's Day Wish list -
* For my youngest to finally be fully potty trained.
* maybe a cool looking jersey (something other than my plain colored ones)
* maybe a cool weather vest. (I want to try to ride outside more this year)

that's about it.

Side note. Trailer rides with the kids are fun, mainly because the wife is pulling them but still fun none the less.

I almost got my wife to ride my mountain bike to the ToC yesterday (we ended up just walking with the stroller). I would have pulled the trailer to "even things up a bit". I realized that (a) he's still not quite ready for a trailer ride, and (b) neither of them have helmets... yet. I'm still hopeful that she will ride a few miles with us some time, and that can grow.

Many memories of the trailer. Wait until there is two kids in the trailer, so you can break up the fight while you ride! Now I need to find a way to transport 5 bikes, without looking like a team car. Man how time flys!

Actually, I would even take the news that #4 is on the way!
Then really kiss that peace goodbye!!

Giro makes awesome kid/baby helmets. It's all my family has and we refuse to ride with anyone who doesn't have a helmet. Got to set good a good example. Rides/Runs with the kids are a definite daddy plus. Mine likes to sing made up songs and tell everyone we pass how 'Superfast' we are.

Empty roads, clear skies, and a fridge-full of Summer Ale awaiting my return are all I desire for this Father's Day. That's not asking too much, right?

I may ask for the same thing I did last year: wife and kids come with me to Nevada City and ring cowbells while I get blown off the back, then console me with double-doubles at the In-N-Out on the way home.

Did you get your wish last year?
What are the chances of getting it this year?

Hell, the visit to the In-N-Out would be the perfect ending to the perfect day (or so someone told me - we have no In-N-Outs here where I live).
